Before you travel to Kunming , if you know more, you will have a better trip.Yunnan province is the third most desirable tourist destination in China, another of my favorites. You could easily spend two weeks here. It is important because of its mountain scenery, its national minorities, the artistry and history of its temples, architecture, the Burma Road, Shangri-La, and the Stone Forest. From here you can travel to Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand.
In the province are several unusual sights. These range from almost year-round snow-capped mountains to tropical jungles where elephants and monkeys roam freely. Yunnan is aiming to get l.5 million overseas tourists by the year 2005. To do this, it is pouring money into upgrading its infrastructure and opening new areas.The population is now 43 million of whom one-third belong to 25 national minorities.
Kunming is completely surrounded by mountains. Sightseeing here can be a little rugged. The Dragon Gate has a cable way so you don't need to climb so much. Hope you have a nice trip in your Kunming Travel.
