2. Be extremely careful with your credit cards. Be sure those who do a credit card transaction write the correct amount and indicate clearly whether this is U.S. dollars or yuan on the credit card slip you sign. It is always a good practice to write the local currency symbol before the total amount so that additional figures cannot be added or the amount mistaken for your own currency. For example, 200 yuan is approximately equivalent to $24.15 U.S. dollars. It should appear as "¥200" on your credit slip. And keep a good record of all charges in local currency-and at official exchange rates-so you don't have any surprises once you return home!
